About Amet (Europe) Ltd...
AMET stands for “Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Technology” which was founded in Idaho USA in 1989 by the current owners Don Schwemmer and Dave Stompro, who had the desire to provide their customers with superior weld controls, weld systems, customer support and service. The history of the company is closely linked to the welding research and the development efforts of the US Department of Energy and Department of Defence. Today the business also has manufacturing facilities in Beijing, and most recently has established a joint venture company, AMET (Europe) Ltd in the United Kingdom, to serve the European Market.
The principal of AMET (Europe) Ltd is David Coaster who has over 35 years experience in the welding industry. David worked many years with NEI Nuclear Systems Ltd, Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Ltd and Welding Machines Automated Ltd and has had extensive involvement with welding engineering development and sales of automated welding equipment including products manufactured by Jetline Engineering Inc.
The primary focus of AMET is the design development and manufacture of advanced mechanised welding systems and controls, many of which will find application in environments that dictate the highest standards of operational precision, tractability and repeatability. It is no surprise therefore that our worldwide customer base includes prestigious clients in Aerospace, Power Generation, Instrumentation and Controls, Defence and other industries where manufacturing quality standards are of paramount importance. Our welding systems, controls and fixturing utilise a wide range of processes, including TIG, Plasma, MIG/MAG and submerged arc, and we are also able to engineer systems featuring specialist processes such as “ Hot Wire TIG” (cladding applications) and “Variable Polarity Plasma” (aerospace applications).
At the heart of AMET’s capability is a ground breaking range of control systems for both welding process and motion. Most of our controls utilise Digital Signal Processing (DSP) often with extensive graphical based software, which is both user friendly and versatile. This is linked to a range of precision servo driven fixturing enabling multi axis systems to be established.
It is our aim to offer products and services of the highest standards, which will surpass customer expectations.
